My Approach EN
2020, 90 x 70 cm, Acrylic on canvas
My artistic work delves into life stories, often fictional but inspired by real events, where childhood and adolescence, particularly of girls, confront defining challenges. These experiences, sometimes invisible at first glance, leave deep marks, shaping adult life in complex ways. Through my works, I aim to translate these imprints into a powerful visual language, where every color, texture, and layer of paint tells a story.
I am particularly drawn to portraying young girls, figures of sensitivity and vulnerability, often exposed to societal and cultural pressures. My paintings reveal how these trials, whether psychological or physical, become deeply ingrained in their being. The vibrant colors I use—pink, red, and yellow—reflect a worldview shaped by their experiences, where innocence gives way to an acute awareness of the world’s realities.
I paint portraits where strength and delicacy intertwine in moments frozen in time. These works, often untitled, unveil silent stories through suspended glances or gestures. Inspired by the art of Kintsugi, I deconstruct and reconstruct these narratives to highlight both visible fractures and internal wounds—deep but often concealed.
My technique combines abstraction and figuration: transparencies, drips, and layers express the ambivalence of emotions. Each piece is a layering of echoes, where the strata of paint evoke memories, pain, and resilience. Light and atmosphere guide the viewer through this interplay of shadow and clarity, much like these young girls oscillate between their sensitivity and the marks left by their history.
Rooted in social and human concerns, my work examines often-overlooked realities. It emphasizes the duality of these feminine figures, where apparent delicacy conceals an inner strength forged by their experiences. Every child, every girl who has endured these moments, deserves her voice—even silent—to find resonance.
